Specialty
Landscape
Ruth will bring her expertise in “plein air” painting to the landscape class. She will demonstrate palette knife techniques in oil, and will give demonstrations in both transparent and opaque water color. Ruth, along with Pat, will offer useful and insightful commentary to individual
painting students on their work.
Background
Ruth is known for being a plein air painter and continues to refine her techniques. She attends workshops in various locations around the US and is attending The Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts. While in her studio, she paints hundreds of vases of flowers throughout the year. She works in oil, transparent watercolor and gouache.
Ruth began studying with Pat in 1992. She was immediately ‘hooked’ on art. She continued her studies at the barn for 13 continuous years and has filled in as an instructor.
