Nancy will be bringing the art of hand paper making to The Barn Studio of Art this summer. The students will be introduced to the history of paper making from ancient China to modern times and the students will have the opportunity to learn hand paper making techniques. Each student will make their own paper with a variety of colorful pulps and natural accents. The students will turn pulp into art in this exciting process.
Background
Nancy currently resides in Columbus, OH where she chairs the art department at The Wellington School. She teaches everything from drawing to 3-D design. She has taught hand paper making at Rhode Island School of Design and is a practicing artist working in hand made paper and mixed media.
Nancy has been returning to the Barn every summer for the past 38 years to teach papermaking and photography.
